Please HELP me!!
Hello everyone, okay my car runs hot (of course.) I will crank it in my driveway and let it sit there for 10-15 mins. and it will be a 210 degrees and i never let it get past 220. I cant figure out what is wrong with it, but here is what i have on the cooling system (its all NEW!) Okay, i have a Be Cool radiator, Perma Cool 16" fan (like 2300cfm, i think), Stewart stage 2 water pump, and a water restrictor (instead of a thermostat), and the fan runs all the time. It has 100% water in it and one bottle of Wetter Wet, also new hoses, new Cylinder heads and intake. The only thing i can figure is the fan i just not pulling a great enough volume of air through the radiator. Any suggestions?? Thanks for any help!

are you useing coolant? I dont know cause you said that your using 100% water.... Maybe there is a small leak and air is getting in there some how not alowing it to burp. Just double check everything and even do a leak test to make sure its all cool. hopes this helps a little bit.

Go to your parts store and ask for a coolant pressure-tester. They let you borrow it for around $35bucks. Try this link out bro...

How much pressure should it have?

make sure the fan is blowing the right direction. if it is not, swithching the wires to the motor will fix it. i think 2300 cfm is a little short, also.

i pressure tested it...no leaks. And i did reverse the wires today and put a plastic bag to it to see if it was pushing or pulling and it was pulling so i check that, but what do you mean 2300cfm is a little short?

my opinion is that 2300cfm is fine but i dont think mine is pulling that, is there anyway it could just be running a half power. And i forgot about this the other day went a cranked my car and it got warm faster than usually, and the fan wasnt coming on, but the next day it worked again

Do you have a stock fan switch? The stock fan switch won't turn the fan on until about 230*. GM designed our cars to run hot so they would put out less emissions.
You can try a lower temp fan switch. If you think your fan motor is not doing the job, they are not expensive to replace.
The dual fan setup should help. One fan will be hooked up to the fan switch. The other can be wired to a manual fan switch on the dash. That should help bring the temp down a bit.

I no longer have a fan switch my fan is grounded so it will run all the time, and i have a perma-cool fan so i cant just replace the motor

did you use a relay to control the fan? long wires and high amperage dont always do so well. before i knew how to use a relay, i had long wires to a switch inside, and i burnt up a couple of fans

all i did is just splice the wires in to the factory location and ground the green wire to the body.

wire it through a relay like this:
power from battery to relay, from relay to fan then to ground on the switch side. go from an ignition switched spot in fuse panel to relay then to ground on the coil side
that will run your fan any time the key is on.
