Code 14 coolant temp sensor help
Finally got the code 34 gone from car (unplugged and reinserted all MAF connection points) and tonight sitting in traffic, the car goes to a tick over 220* it has done this since I've had it, and the Check engine light comes on. Goes out after cooling down a bit. Pulled the code and got a lucky 14 or 13, Hell, I dont remember the number but I did look it up in my Haynes book as being the Coolant temp sensor. I understand that these cars run a little warm, but it shouldn't be doing this. Radiator is less than a year old. Previous owner had a leak and it overheated, so he replaced. My question is this, should I go on and change the sensor and how in the hell can I cool this car down. Its all stock 305TPI. My BB400's never ran this hot. Has anyone tried the "Wetter Water" stuff by Redline? Supposed to drop 20* off temp. I'm jsut a little weary of miracles in a can or bottle. Have seen many posts regarding changing the fan switch. I assume that I have a stock thermostat in now. Whats the temp rating for the stock units? Need advice, wife is gonna kick my *** if I keep spending money
Also, what kind of mileage should I be getting out of this thing? I run it, but don't hammer all the time.

Changed the temp coolant sensor and added the water wetter, now while driving, stays 175-180* while parked at idle, the highest it'll go is 195*. This water wetter stuff is the bomb!
