Shrouded electric fan
This may belong on the fabrication board, but it probably belongs here more.
I have an 85 TA with a fabricated single electric fan and a huge Griffin aluminum radiator. The Griffin is almost 2¼" thick and barely fits. Because of this, the fan is a pretty decent distance away from the radiator.
I've noticed that the car is starting to heat up more than I am comfortable with (215-230*) while idling with the AC on. It wont get much hotter than that, but I dont like to have to keep glancing at the gauge.
I was thinking that a fan shroud to help draw air more directly from the radiator might help. It would be easy enough to make out of aluminum or plastic. Does anyone see a downfall to this? I was a little concerned about it blocking air at high speed.
BTW, the fan is a factory thirdgen single puller.
Thanks!
