lower radiator hose
i just bought an 82 camaro last weekend, the PO put a griffin style radiator on it, well i don't have to go to school today, and i told my dad i wasn't going to work, so i am looking under the hood of it, and i see black marks all over the harmonic balancer, i feel on the radiator hose, and it has been rubbing on the balancer, i am sure it has bigger than stock outlets on the radiator, what kind of lower radiator hoses should i get, should i get a stainless steel one from jegs.com from wysco, or should i get a stock replacement one from the local auto parts store

Got a picture? I'm just trying to picture- it's been a while since I played with my car. I think stainless steel would be brutally overkill for this situation though, I mean aren't they like $60? Sounds like you need a shorter hose.

Personally, I'd replace it with a stock one. But to get it to fit just cut about 2-3" off of the end that meets the radiator. Then loosen the waterpump end and rotate the hose away from the balancer. It looks like there is room for the hose to fit between the balancer and the belts.
If not, did you consider maybe the hose is on backwards? If not, it may just fit better if its backwards.
Like I said, tough to see, but maybe that will get you thinking of alternate solutions.

Replace it and then grab a few of the large zip ties and use the fuel pump as a base and pull it away from the balancer.
Out of curiousity, why is your fuel pumps return like blocked off?

probably blocked off due to a lack of return line. secondly pull the hose off the radiator side and cut off maybe 1-2 inches and try remounting the hose. should bolt up without rubbing. if it does then go buy a factory replacement for $8 and refill with new coolant after flushing out all the old stuff if it comes out dirty looking. Seems like a sweet ride that you bought, this is the place to ask questions, i remember being a newbie a few years ago as well.
