Where does this hose go to and what does it do?
Hey guys I need some help.
Ok I found this pic here at thirdgen.org and I am using it as a reference for you guys to look at to make my question easier to understand. OK in the pic hose 1 where does it go to? And is it necessary to have this hose? The reason that I ask is because I got a new radiator and it does not have a place to connect hose 1 to the radiator. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated. Thanks you guys.

From the picture I believe the hose you labeled #1 and #3 are the ends of the same hose.It goes to heater control valve.TPI cars had a coolant hose that ran to the underside of the throttle plate which appears to be #6

You might have tried to find a picture of a later serpentine-belted car for reference.
The hose marked #1 should run from the steel pipe to the radiator. #1 and #3 should not be the same hose in stock routing.
What radiator did you buy? Company and part number? If it's missing that fitting then it does not sound like a direct replacement piece.
Do you have the factory oil cooler?
Here's a drawing for reference. Look at the routing on the left for your '91. If you have the cooler, the hose you asked about leads to a steel pipe for it.

Thankyou Jade that clears it for me anyhow. From the picture it appeared #1 and # would be the same hose. The overflow tank hides the steel coolant line your diagram show. And you make a good point the parts place may have goofed on getting the correct one.
