dual fan setup

my 91z28 lb9,has dual fans but the second one on pass. side of car wont work,my mechanic told me the second fan wont come on because my freon level is too low,he said that is what controls the second fan operations, has anyone else heard this before about the freon levels and the fan operating, recently i bought a cool fan switch from hypertech,my question is,if i change the stock fan switch for this #4028 switch from hypertech whats that going to accomplish?all they sent me was a new fan switch, and a wire adapter,is this new fan switch going to turn on that second fan,or did i waste 45.00 dollars?need help, this is my first camaro and i really need that second fan to work,i was hoping to run a switch in the center console so i could manually turn on and off this second fan, when things got warm, ever since i installed the hooker 2055's the car has been running at around 210 to 225 degrees,if i can get thAt second fan running.perhaps i can drop the temp a few degrees down, any help is appreciated, thanks cuda69

I have an 85 that had a clutch fan on it but I love the fact that the engine isn't wasting power turning a fan at highway speeds, be sure you have the air dam on the bottom side of the rad,I can almost run around all day with my fan's off, I have dual electric fans outa of a I don't know what car, was in the body shop garbage at the dealership my mom work's at, I found a kit that works quite well to turn them on, I don't think that's your prob, but anyway's, wire the fan's together to the connection that turn's the other fan on, paralell you might get away with but if you fry some relay's or what not run them in series, the air damn help's quite a bit if you don't have it though, before I put my air dam on I had to have the fan running ALL THE TIME, have a good one, I hope that helps
