protection for radiator?

Ok, I ditched the AC condenser and installed a new radiator in my 1984 Bird. I was looking at it from underneath and it sure looks naked! Do I need to be concerned with anything coming up from underneath and hitting it and causing damage? I am wondering if I should install some kind of screen in front of it to protect it? The AC condenser that used to be there did a great job taking the hit first, but it's gone now and I'm wondering if this could cause problems. Any advice apprecaited.

Anything that could damage the rad that way would go through a screen with no trouble. Cars without A/C from the factory have nothing in front of the rad at all either.

That's all in front of the wheels, so there's not much to kick up rocks. I would think a condenser would be at least if not more sensitive than a radiator.
