91 RS location of thermostatic switch
I have a 91 RS for my wife and the fan stopped working, checked everything and found out that the thermostatic switch isn't coming on to the relay to turn the fan on. But, I have no idea where the switch is at, my wiring diagram says its a drk grn/white wire but thats all i know. I wasn't able to trace the wire to the switches location. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks

Ok 3rd generation camaros are notorious for having cooling problems. That is probabley one of their worst features on these cars. So I would recomend getting a 165F thermostat. Then hook the fan up to a manual togel switch in the cabin of the car. This is the same way I have it hooked up on my car and works flawlessly. I very rarly if ever have to use the fan because with the lower thermostat if keeps the car right at about 180F. But having the fan on a switch is the way to go b/c if the car starts to overheat in the hot weather you can turn it on when you think it needs to be turned on.

Anyway, to answer the original question, the fan switch is located in the passenger side cylinder head, located between the 6 and 8 cylinders.

I've been considering this lately for my 86 Iroc. A couple of questions I have:
1. which wire do we splice into? example: two wires run from my fan relay to the fan. black wire is ground, and black/red is power. i assume I splice into the black/red power wire and when i ground it out, the fan will come on. is this right? (forgive me, I'm real weak on electric)
2. i want to install an in-line fuse but i can't tell from the wiring diagram what the amperage should be. Any suggestions? is there a safe rule of thumb for this kind of thing?
3. Here's why I want to install a manual override or a hypertech switch, when I turn on my AC and get on the highway, my temp gauge runs up to about the 230-240 mark and then stays there. it seems that my fan isn't coming on til that top temp is reached (it's supposed to run constantly with AC on), but i also don't understand why my air dam isn't cooling my radiator. and why does it stop at 230-240? i'm going to test my current CTS for resistance. Is anyone familiar with this situation? Is it normal? running that hot kills my performance and makes me nervous, too.
guys, i really appreciate anyone who can offer some feedback on this. now that summer is here, i need to get my brain around this situation quickly and i've done my search function and read the tech articles but haven't found answers to these specific questions.

I believe thats the temp sending unit for the gauge. The temp sensor is usually on the intake manifold near the T-stat.

Sender for the gauge is in the driver side head, fan switch is in the pass. head. CTS for the ECM is by the thermostat.
