One more Quick Question PLZ LOOK!! Fan switch
ok i have a dual fan setup thats been removed and replaced with a single aftermarket fan...im rigging a manual switch
so far ive taking the relay on the far driv side firewall #14089936 ...ive taken the black wire from the F plug and tapped into it ran a wire to the power of a switch and then grounded the ground of the switch...then i spliced the previous drv side fan wires with the NEW fan wires and turned on the ignition and flipped the switch and nothing happened
i have an led switch with a power slot, acc slot, and ground slot...on both the power and acc slot the led will light when i flip the switch but the fan doesnt come on on either...
so i fig id see if i got the passeng side fan relay and spliced the pass side fan to the new fan STILL NOTHING
now as seen before my stock fan switch doesnt have the connection going to it...could that be killing power to the fans completely i thought it would still work regardless if you grounded the relay PLZ HELP !!!!
NOTE: i just hooked up a voltage meter to both sets of fan wires with the ignition on and switch set to on and no power is being read

ive checked a couple of more things...first i want to make mention that on BOTH of my relays the wire coming from the F prong is black/white stripped not green/white or dark green...i dont know WTF is the reason but its the right relay according to part numb...now i tried tapping into the other relay and found it to not send any power or anything...i think that relay is blown..however the other relay sent power to the switch, lit the led, but i couldnt get power to either of the fans....

I was running a manual switch mounted on the dash for a few years. I didn't even mess with the stock fan relay. I drilled a small hole through the firewall to run wire. For my positive power supply, I attached a ring terminal where the positive wire from the battery attaches to the alternator. Ran wire from there through my hole and to my dash mounted toggle switch. Then from the output terminal on the switch, through my hole and splice into the positive wire on the fan. Splice into the negative wire on the fan and attach to frame, body, or engine for a ground. If it runs backwards, reverse the connections at the fan. These fans pull a fair amount of current, so use fairly large wire and install an in-line fuse. My switch had an LED feature like yours but I never bothered to get that working. To make things easy to remember, install your switch to where up is on, down is off, just like the light switches in our houses; it's a muscle memory thing. My setup may not have been the best way, but it worked for me.
I no longer use that setup. One day last year I found a very eary 3rd gen at the junk yard with a belt drive setup. Now I have a belt driven fan and I'm very happy with it.

thx for your help, i still know that there are other people who have done this and i just cant understand why in the world it isnt working or WHY my relays have a different color wire
ill prob end up just doing something along those lines if i need...i just need a 12v source and then use an inline fues and ground it and run the power to the fans
