AC hose routing.

I was wondering if there is any reason that the Air conditioning hoses run right in front of the hot radiator. The only explanation I can think of it that the extra heat makes sure no liquid reaches the compressor.

Would there be any benefit to rerouting the lines away from the heat of the radiator?

Yes,it would benefit if you place the condensor on the roof of your car.Its there just for air flow.Inside the condensor the freon is changing its state to a high pressure gas to a low pressure gas...before it enters the evaporator where it changes again. Most large trucks will have roof mounted ac systems where the condensor is in better direction of air flow.More air the colder and more efficent it will be.Thats why you always here a fan come on when you turn on your ac.But whos going to place there condensor on the roof?.

Oooo you missunderstood. I wasnt talking about the condensor. I was talking about the lines from the accumulator to the compressor. The run directly "behind" the radiator, where the hot air from the fan blows.

Well, my '84 camaro has the lines bracketed to the top of the radiator on top of the upper shroud. Might start there.

Would be ideal if the compressor was on the passenger side and alt on the drivers side now wouldnt it?
