High Temp

I have an 84 camaro. About two years ago I had an 89 350 tpi swapped in, but had it converted to carb. My cooling setup is the belt driven fan from the 84...the radiator I had with the 305..and a 160 degree thermostat. i had no problems until the past couple of weeks. when i get on the highway the temperature starts to climb steadily to 240 or higher. I flushed the radiator last night..put a new coolant tank and still the same.. and yes my air dam is intact..what can I do? what should my timing be set at with an 89 350 run by a ccc qjet?
