AC switches--where are they?

where are the AC pressure switch and compressor clutch swithes located? I think i found the pressure switch in my accumulator. i'm assuming the clutch switch is mounted to my compressor and probably where the compressor receives power. if anyone can confirm, thanks.

also, can i legally remove these myself or will refrigerant start blowing all over the place? is it best left to a licensed pro?

thank you.

On the resovior (big ugly silver canister) there is a part protruding that has a cap on it. Twist the cap off and you'll see what looks like a tire valve. Use a paperclip or similar device and push that in to see if there is any pressure. If there is, ask some pros and find out what the most safe way is to evacuate the system. Also there is another one of these valves on a tiny line that sticks up by the resovior and goes back down to the underside of the big black box.

If there is pressure in the system, yes it will go all over the place when you loosen the fittings.

The pressure switch on the reciever just screws out. there is a valve that holds the pressure in underneath it.
