90 Firebird Radiator Fan Problem
A little while ago, when the weather was very hot, i had a few overheating issues that led me to discover my fan had stopped turning on at high heat. I dont' usually use my AC so i didn't notice the problem immediatelly. I wasn't too sure what the problem was, and assumed that the fan motor had probably gone bad (it's the original for the car). So i replaced it with a new one but still no luck. It was at that point i decided to look on here to see if there was any information. I've looked through some of the posts but felt that i should make one of my own for my specific car if i was to get to the bottom of the problem.
The vehicle is a 90 firebird, all stock as far as i know, and has been well maintained in the five years that i've had it. The engine is a 3.1L V6. I don't really know anything about tuning and TPI and what all that stands for so unfortunantly i won't be able to provide information along those lines.
Now, I've tried to check to see if the relay has gone bad by swapping it with the one for the fuel pump mentioned in a previous post, but i'm not sure i'm even doing it right. I also read that there's a circuit breaker for the fan by the battery but i haven't been able to locate it and i don't know what it looks like. I have checked the one inside the car underneath the dash and it's fine. In addition to all of that, there was another post involving a fan switch by the radiator, I believe i've found that and think it's going to be the next thing i replace. However, I would like some opinions and direction as to how to better solve my problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated and i hope that my post isn't too nonsensicle.

I'm not certain on the v6's, but on the v8's the fan switch was in the pass side head, not near the radiator. IMO, the easiest thing to do is get a seperate fan controller box - they range from $30 - $200, they have a probe that sticks in between the fins on the radiator, and wire it according to the directions, and skip the stock fan switch - I never got one to work properly anyway, but my seperate fan controller works just like it should, every time.
