AC Delete Pulley...
Is the AC Delete worth it? My car is a toy, only driven on nice days, maybe once or twice a week or so. And even during the summer, I never use my AC. I have a friend that is selling a new AC Delete Pulley as well as the standard heater box/motor with all mounting bolts.
I know I'll maybe gain a whole 2hp from the modification, but it'll also drop like wha... 40 pounds? Is it a fairly simple modification to do since I'll have everything? Who else has done the mod, ya think it's worth it?

Its pretty straightfoward and will mostly clean up the look of the engine bay. You need to get it discharged legally (not into the atmosphere) but other than that disconnect the battery and go for it.
I've done a lot to my bay but the A/C was the first to go a while ago. Even though it was ICE cold the clean look was more important to me...I HATE clutter though.

So, do ya think $130 is good price for everything involved... like the 'standard' heating box and the AC Delete Pulley?

FWIW I paid around $70 for just my standard heater box. This thing was a rust bucket too. Throw in a $30 blower motor (I broke mine
) and my work and yea, it sounds like a decent deal.
My heat is going too though so I can clean up the bay that much more!

I just did the swap on boxing day. I paid 28$ for the delete pulley from summit and 30$ for the heater box from the JY. I haven't weighed the parts yet but I know it's not 40 lbs. maybe 15 but the engine bay looks so much more uncluttered.
PS I haven't swapped the heater box yet because I'm painting the new one. It is pretty straight forward though.
There is a lot of extra wires now. Which will get cleaned up when I pull the motor. No pics as of yet camera was out of batteries.
Gotta keep the heat though, with the top down I have it cranked on the highway, it gets a little nippley if it's not that warm out. I drive with the top down always, if it's raining I don't drive it.

Yea I'd probably keep the heat too if I was in Canada. In KY, at least this year (today), I'm wearing a t-shirt in January. Plus, mine is a weekend toy only (if it ever runs).
