Cooling system running properly?
this is a BRAND NEW ENGINE...
how can I tell if my coooling system is running the way its suppose to be?
I have a 180* stat with the little holes in it...
I cant tell if its opening or not...I cant tell if water is circulating thru the mtor or not..
whats the right procedure so I can make sure eerything is running right?
I took out the heater bypass also...
I have the hose running from the RAD to one of the nipples on the heater core and the other nipple runs to the intake water hole right under the throttle body...I deleted the TB collant too.
I found that when I have the hoses connected to the heater core I get a leak inside the car passenger side...When I took the engine down last year the heater core WORKED PERFECT!...NOW why would it leak? Its only 2 years old...
I cant tell if water is even circulating thru it to the intake and going thru the motor like it should.
I cant tell if the thermo is opening.
I got a brand new radiator cap at 16lbs
brand new stock radiator.
Now when I bypass the heater core and just run the hose straight from the RAD to the intake fitting...the something got so HOT that the fitting blew apart and and SPEWED all my water out...I quickly shut the motor off.
This is the first start up of the motor...I hope I didnt screw anything it had been running for about 15mins anf the temp according the the gauge in the car got up to the mark inbetween 220 and 100.
can I have to much pressure?
hell I dont know
