Engine: 455 in the 68, 400 poncho in the 83
Transmission: TH 400 in the 68, TH 350 83
Axle/Gears: 3.08 in the 68
Electric fan info:
I recently put a pontiac 400 engine in my 83 firebird (non electric fan)
I used a dual fan setup from a dodge Intrepid I believe a 1996. and it fit perfect. I drilled 1/8 inch rivets to the top radiator aluminum and used a universal relay kit available from any parts store and wired both fans to come on when the temp reached the proper set point.
It worked for me
