On the back of the compressor on my 86 camaro 2.8, whats that little pin sticking out at an angle? At first I thought it was a plug in but now I dont know. Also, if the refrigerant is low, will the compressor not cut on at all? mines not engaging at all. I checked the refrigerant and its almost all gone now. Thanks.

 

THAT IS A HIGH PRESSURE CUT OUT SWITCH FOR THE AC SYSTEM. YOUR CAR MAY OR MAY NOT USE IT. HAVE TO CHECK SCHEMATICS FOR YOUR CAR. IF THE CAR IS LOW ON FREON THE COMPRESSOR WILL NOT KICK IN AT ALL OR INTERMITENTLY AT BEST IF IT'S JUST A LITTLE LOW.
