Dual Fan Question
Dual Fan Question
Hey guys i have been searching and haven't really been finding what i need. I was wondering how to get the secondary fan to turn on when the primary fan does and still work the same when i turn the A/C on. I dont want a manual toggle switch i want them to still turn on by the PCM. I have seen it done just cant remember how to wire it up. Thanks for any help

Re: Dual Fan Question
This may help:
Re-program the computer to turn on/off where you desire and wire the fan relays together so that both fans operate together. Fans will still operate when the A/C is turned on.

Re: Dual Fan Question
There is an easier and cheaper way if you like. Pick up a fan switch like Jet`s part #60600 that turns the secondary fan on around 200 and off at 185. Since the fan switch controls the secondary fan and the ECM controls the primary, the secondary will now come on first and the ECM will turn on the primary when it senses the secondary is on. That way, both fans turn on and run at the same time. This has worked fine for me for the last year. Having both fans run at the same time brings the temps down much sooner and I still run the stock battery and alternator and no issues there.

Re: Dual Fan Question
i am fixing to take mine of the toggle and put in the switch. but as jimdutro said it will work cause i am running a wire from the fan switch wire to the toggle then grounded out. same principle that the swtich works from.

Re: Dual Fan Question
theimpaler68, the last time I worked on my cooling system, I installed a toggle for each fan at the relay and also wired an L.E.D. to each fan relay so I know when the fan/fans are on. If you are interested in doing either or both let me know and I will tell you the easy way to wire them up.
