Re: Overheating

i know i was told that the third gen cars in an attempt to complete the burn better will run up to an extremely high temperature which it will cool back down run back up and down untill you are moving again, mine running down the interstate prob. never leaves about 180 but setting still it runs almost up to 230 for just a few and then back down over and over setting in the jack in the box drive through, freaked me out the first time i saw it, like you i ran for the thermostat, the fans, the radiator hoses, the water pump, radiator cap and everything i could put on it to keep it running cool but it never worked, ive heard that you can buy a lower degree thermostat which will cut the fans on earlier but you can go to advance for the same price and get and adjustable one which you can set to your own preference its an electric fan on your car im guessing so your already 1/2 way there.

Hmm... How hot was it? I would suggest to atleast try installing a manual fan switch it can help you in a little way. I need to know every details first man thanks.

You might check the lower hose, which should have a spring in it to prevent collapse.
