Help with fan switch install
Hey, sorry to bother you guys with something I should probably be able to figure out myself but can anyone help me with a fan switch install for my 1990 Camaro rs v8 305. I have to constantly run the A/C so my fan is running and I want to wire a switch. I tried it before and it worked for about five minutes before the wire was shredded by a pulley. Can someone give me complete instructions on how I should install a switch including what gauge of wire I should use, what amperage of fuse I should use if I install one and different connectors I should use, please help, email me if you have to, kkingsrulee@gmail.com

Re: Help with fan switch install
Instead of doing a switch, I'd recommend making it so the fan stays on whenever the engine is running. That way, you can't accidentally leave the fan on and run the battery dead (I've done it before
). Find your fan relay, it's probably on the firewall near the brake booster. It should have 4 wires, a thick red, thick black, green/white, and tan(I think). If you ground the green/white wire, the fan will come on whenever the ignition is on. I'd recommend using one of those clip-on wire tee splice things, so you don't have to cut the factory harness.

I was able to talk to my cousin about installing his own switch. He used to have this problem just this previous month. You may choose to have a regular toggle switch instead, then try to twist into the stock fan switch wire anywhere after the relay for the passengers side relay. You may also take a look at this link as your reference man. Goodluck!
