temp sensor

temp sensor

is it that thing sticking out the thermostat housing? i replaced the housing with a nice chrome one but i completely forgot about my temperature. i take a look and its below 1/4. so i put the original housing back on and its still stuck on below 1/4.
please help! im also having water pump problems and i cant tell if im over heating or not..
