Will they both fit? Two Griffin Radiators
I was looking at these two radiators from summitracing to replace my stock radiator. I would like to to fit without modifying anything.
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...&view=1&N=700+
and
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...&view=1&N=700+
the first Link should be good to 600 HP and the Second good to 400 HP.
My car has 330 HP so I should be good with the Second, However since they are so close in price I would prefer to get the 600 HP radiator since I live in a hot climate (Orlando FL).
My question... Will these both fit? they are both marked at 31 x 19 x 3.0 , but on another post about these radiators, from year 2000 or so, the 600 HP radiator will require some modifications. Does anyone know why? I want this swap to go as easy as possible.
I have an 89 Firebird Formula - Stock motor was the 305 (has been swapped). It is Automatic so I need the cooler line hook ups.
Thanks
MIKE

I would also like to know if these will fit correctly. I just found a leak in mine so I am searching for one also. I am not sure what the difference between these two and this one is: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...38+4294810996+, other than a lot of money. Seems a bit strange since they are all made by griffin

i just bought a griffin radiator the 25272 one and no they dont fit in the stock rad mounts...you have to lower the support by like 3 inches and on top there is a few mod to do aloso siince its 3 inches wide instead od the stock 2 inches my advice is if your engine is almost stock go for a 1991 camaro radiator wich is aluminium core plastic tanks so it all depend on your engine setup...you running a stock engine?

Nope, not stock, that is why I'm considering an aftermarket Radiator. Running the AC heat Soaks my Radiator, otherwise it works great.

Re: Will they both fit? Two Griffin Radiators
are you sure you need a radiator? Our radiators are pretty good as is.. Have you looked at other areas of cooling system (160 or 180* thermostat, straight water, dual fans, wire fan on all time, radiator flush/cleaning)??

Re: Will they both fit? Two Griffin Radiators
I have tried everything except straight water. I have the 160 degree thermostat and my fan switch is wired on all the time. Both Fans come on with the AC, otherwise only the one is on. I have flushed the system. Keep in mind this is 330 HP and a stock radiator isn't designed for this. Other than a radiator the only other option is running an electric water pump to increase the flow of water while the car is in idle, but none of this actuall disapates the heat only the radiator can do this, so this is why I'm looking at a new radiator.
Thanks for the help, everything is helpful.
