header wrap on heater hose?

ok so i forgot to install the metal heater line that runs near the passenger side header and goes from the heater core, T's into the diverter valve then goes somewhere near the water pump. so the only way to get it back in is to take the header back out. **** it i say lol. so i bought some heater hose and a T and am going to run it somewhat near the header. i know the header being ceramic coated will help keep the heat away from the hose.

should i wrap it in header wrap to be safe? its gonna cost $50 for 50' X 1". kinda sucks when all i need is 5 feet.
