Fan constantly running

I have an 87 Z28 305 T5. It has a Single electric fan. The fan runs as soon as the ignition is turned on. The previous owner had the fan wired to the power window fuse which kept it running whenever the car was on. Also made the fuse Very Hot! Anyway I cut the wire and wired all four wires to the relay connector properly but the fan still always runs. Is there a temp sensor or something of that nature that may be bad that would keep the fan on all the time?

No, the temp sensor shouldn't keep it on all the time. What relay connector did you wire them to? There must be some reason the previous owner wired it differently. The power wire going to your fan, exactly where is it connected now?

Its wired to the FAN RELAY on the driver side up by the windshield.

Re: Fan constantly running

I'm thinking the single fans were controlled by a fan switch at one of the heads. Could be a bad switch, also sometimes the wire will get melted onto the manifolds creating a continuous ground.

Thats what I was thinking. it should be the switch on the passenger side right under the manifold. Gonna check it in a few when it cools off.
