Narrowing my cooling systems problems down
My fan does not work, the circuit is not closed, and because of this when my temp goes over 220 the engine service light comes on when im sitting at a long light/traffic/drivethrough. I finally figured out whats been burning coolant, i definatley do not have any intake leaks or head gasket issues. My radiator cap does not seal down fully and i noticed little lines of coolant dripping from it, also i had purchased a new reserve tank cap because the last one didnt torque down and just kept tightening then going back to as if i just place it on there. This one does the same thing so i assume i need a new reserve tank. When you overtorque the cap it just goes back to the normal loose position. How can i find out whats wrong with my fan?
Re: Narrowing my cooling systems problems down
I would drain and flush system replace rad cap. Not gonna fix fan but will help. read sticky theard top of page common cooling questions. Check fuse check to see if fan motor is good and getting power Check fan relay temp sending switchand fan switch.
