dual fan wiring

Hey guys.. after searching through my manual and online, I can't seem to find any clear answers or wiring diagram. Here is my problem;

'91 Z28 5.7 TPI - previous owner wired the dual fans to be on at all times with the ignition key. That was probably a good idea being an original Florida car, but now that I've got it in Canada its not always the best idea.

I'd like to return the dual fans to 'stock' operation, but I don't know where to look or how it should be normally. Now I know it should be fairly obvious where the connections were severed and connected, but there is a lot of questionable connections and black tape under the hood.. the more I look at it, the more I'm surprised everything works.. lol.

So any help is appreciated on ideas on where to locate this wiring mod and a clear wiring diagram would be a big help.

Thanks!

Re: dual fan wiring

They probably wired it by cutting into the "+12v in run" wire feeding the fan relays. Start by tracing the wires back from the fans to the relays and see if that is what they did. My single fan, the second was removed, was done this way and this is how I got it back to normal without the TPI. If you are still using the ECM, your coolant fan switch wire should be connected back to the ecm as well. Here is how I fixed mine.

Take a look at " ******* updated Total Fan Control " if you haven't seen it yet.

It's the last sticky under -- Cooling -- threads.

Good info!!

( IDK why I can't get the link to post up from my iPhone. )
