Coolant diverter valve.

Can i delete this thing and just run a hose from the rad to the intake and plug both heater core passages. I live in florida and a heater is not needed here , that thing along with the air pump is taking space in my pass side of the motor and i want it off if its possible.

Im guessing that the valve is used to take coolant from the rad to intake line and make it go to the heater cores, but like i said its not needed, my bro RS has both heater core holes plug cuz the heater cores were leaking but he still has the valve.

My car has the heater deleted. The intake manifold has been plugged and the radiator connection to the heater core has been capped. There is no hose from the radiator to the intake. The radiator to the engine connection is through the waterpump.

Thats a hot water shutoff valve, shuts the hot water off to the heater core when your not using heat. Of course you can delete your heater core and just cap the lines off. Dont forget you'll lose the defrost too if you delete your heater. I have my heater deleted too b/c my heater core is leaking and i like the clean look/space. I was thinking of hooking it back up for the defrost, and sometimes those cold mornings/nights. I should have bought a carb with a choke too and sacrificed the 1hp for not having to hold my foot to the gas until the car warms up!
