What is this part? Plastic Reservoir...

Hey all,

I'm getting ready to invest in a 1984 T/A that the owner is telling me needs a few things (understandably).

He says the " plastic reservoir that captures runoff from the radiator" needs to be replaced.

Now I had an 85 TA in the past, but can't for the life of me figure out what he means. Can any of you shed some light, or point me to a part number? Also cost for me to replace assuming its not too difficult.

It also needs an Alt belt and has a small trans leak.

Welcome to TGO. Overflow tank on the pass side. New from the dealership for $20-25 or so.

Thanks James. I was on this site when I had my first TA. I knew there'd be plenty of people here to help!

I'll check with O'Reilly and Auto Zone to see if they carry it also since we dont have a Pontiac Dealership anywhere near.

I doubt that the auto part stores will carry the tanks. If you don't care about used, the bone yards will be full of them for pennies.

Any GM dealership can get it for you, the same tank is used on both f-bodies.
