Coolant fan stays on (all the time)

i got a 1991 firebird v8 tbi.
ever sense i overheated the engine and replaced the relay, the coolant fan has been staying on. even when the car is off and the key is out of the hole. i have to unhook the relay every time i park so the the battery won't die from the fan being on.

I would check the relay. I would suspect it is providing power 24/7 & not cutting it off, like it should. Faulty new Relay?
