One fan malfunctioning???

Just curious does anyone else have problems with electronic fans where only one fan is powering up? In particular my passenger side coolant fan works well. Driver side one however (even with 12v to the connector) does not come on. I just recently replaced the motor. The motor worked briefly then, did not work once again. Any help is appreciated. Thanx everyone.

Re: One fan malfunctioning???

Which connector did you apply the 12 volts to the relay or fan itself

Re: One fan malfunctioning???

IDK how a dual-fan works, but IIRC, 1 comes on per temp, & 1 comes on when AC is turned on???

...
check the wires at the relay(s) for loose or coroded connections.
Another thing I am learning is grounds are more important than I thought! Check all grounds & clean any that are rusty // coroded.

In the cooling forum, check out Willie's threads on fans & wiring. He goes into how duals work.

Good luck, & Happy Cruisin'

(edit )
I type sooo slow!! You're getting great help already!!

Re: One fan malfunctioning???

I see. Well this does help a bit. I will recheck the grounds as well. I checked it at the connector at the fan and it had 12 volts....maybe the fan motor is bad after all. Thanx again guys. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend.
