A/C R12 to R134 Conversion

I am repairing my A/C system in my 88 IROC. I am putting in a new accumulator, orifice tube, o-rings, and a new compressor. I then plan on recharging with PAG oil and 134a. My question is, what exactly is in a retrofit kit? From what I can see, the only difference is the valves, but the manifold gauge set I have connects directly to the existing valves already in the vehicle, and I can recharge through the manifold guages. So, would it be really necessary to change the valves? (Or am I missing something and have the valves already been replaced?)

Thanks

are the valve you have now quick diconnect? If so, they have already been changed over. I like the 134 quick disconnect valves. Don't forget to pull a vacuum on the system before you charge it.
