Some ac questions

I am redoing my a/c or at least what I can afford right now. I bought a accumulator from napa but it didn't have caps in any of the ports? Is this a problem? I didn't know if that would allow a lot of moisture in to and cause problems.

My second question was my compressor makes a clicking noise when it is running. When I bought my car it has some charge left and so to see if it still worked I added some r12 but not any oil. Do you think this clicking means its already damaged or could adding new oil to the system quiet it down. I haven't ran it since it started the noise except 1 time by accident. Thanks!

The accumulator should have come with caps.

You should return it for a new one.

TIP: Put a secret mark on it, and all returned parts so they won’t be able to resell it to you in the future.

RE: Your noisy compressor, can’t tell without hearing it.

If it is ruined you have nothing to lose by adding oil.

If the system then works correctly you win.
