Noob question head bolts
Hi, im new to this site, and i have a noob question. i recently changed the head gaskets on my 85 trans am 305 LG4, I torqued down the heads, but i didn't use teflon paste, and im still getting water in my oil, do i need to use teflon paste? thanks.

It's highly recommended if not a necessity. Usually head bolts will come with a coating on them already at the bottom. I even put black RTV at the top of the bolt, not sure if it was a good idea or not but its done. If you reused the same bolts without adding teflon that might be your problem or you have a crack somewhere in your block.
Either way, I wish you the best, replacing the heads on mine was a chore and and hope I don't have to do it again unless i'm putting on some Vortecs.
