Fan constantly on

Hey when I bought my car the fan was already wired up to constantly be on. I live in WI and since its not snowing yet im still driving it but its very cold out here lol. I wanted to kno if having it on all the time is an issue or if it is bad for the engine. Assuming the thermostat is correct it rarely ever sees over 150 degrees even when im beating the snot out of it.
Thanks guys

Re: Fan constantly on

if its on all the time, its possible for the engine to never properly heat up, or take way too long to heat up which is not the best for ht engine. I would rewire it to come on with the fan switch.

Re: Fan constantly on

yea i got a toggle to over ride mine, make sure you use a relay or you will burn up toggles

you could also use a fan controler from jeg semmit or what not

Re: Fan constantly on

I did the same thing when i first mine. well it was wired to a toggle switch and for peace of mind i left it on, being in tx in the summer it just made sense, till i overheated cause the fan motor burnt out. it wasnt even rebuildable. i wanna say it was fairly inexpensive to replace but can ruin your day if it happens at the wrong time.
