Need help with cooling fan
Hello me and my dad replaced the fan swith for the second time now and the fan still doesn't work. When you turn the air conditioner on, the fan turns on, but when the car starts to get hot, the fan won't turn on. It is supposed to turn on at 160'F. Please help. My camaro is an 1989 RS 5.0 TPi.

Are you using thread tape on the switch? Could cause it to not work - has to ground on the head.
Are you sure your replacing fan switch? It's in the head, but the knock sensor looks almost identical and it's in the block.
I always found the switches to not work for me either, and I went to an aftermarket fam controller that probes the radiator fins, and is fully adjustable, and it works great. They run $40 to $100+, I run a $100 Flex-a-lite unit - hasn't failed me once in 5+ years.

camaronewbie pushin the flexalite controller. ha so will i
the flexalite controller does completely away with the car electronics except for
1. battery positive
2. battery negative
3. a/c signal
and they turn the fans on at a slower rate as well as 60% initial (which is all mine ever come on) until it sees that it needs 100% ( almost never )
around a $100 bucks but has served me well. and this is the third vehicle in 10 years i have them on.
