1987 camaro .5.7 tuned port. The AC compressor clutch will not come on. I tried to jump 12 volts to the green wire on plug in back. There are two wires. Is one a ground?Not sure if the compressor it self is grounded by bolts.Or are the two wires on plug in back of compressor ground and power?

The compressor is grounded through the brackets. The clutch works off the high pressure switch on the back side of the compressor.

This should help a little with the wires, it shows all three versions available.

I have a 1988 trans am gta 5.0 mfi, On the a/c system the compressor has been replaced and the high side pressure switch is gone, and the plug has been cut off and the two wires spliced together. The a/c is prone to blowing fuses. Would this be due to the high side pressure switch being gone? Is this switch needed or will the a/c work properly without it?

A/C will work fine without the high pressure switch in the circuit. Mine when i bout it had the plug with a wire in it also, not a critical item as far as i am concerned. There should be another high pressure switch coming from the condensor passenger side below accumulator
