have to have heat on or car overheats

quick question. not the biggest deal in the world? but Im selling my third gen soon, and well.. ever since i bought it i have to drive it with the heat on ALWAYS or else it overheats.. Id like to know why I have to do that.. lol.. Also i have no air dam but something tells me thats only a fraction of the reason.

cmon guys, give me something i can tell ppl and not look like im bustin their ***** ?

First of all, that air dam makes a huge difference on these cars. The radiator and thermostat are the other two options. Good luck.

without the air dam, the car is going to overheat on the highway no matter what you do. if its over heating in traffic, it could be a multitude of things including a stopped up radiator, non working fans, bad tstat, air bubble, running too rich or lean, a bad or wrong rotation water pump....you get the idea.

I would think it is an airflow issue since he claims it is "fixed" by running the heater. All the heater is is a second radiator and fan.

its a good possibility. and one of the easier things to check.
