TB Bypass question

TB Bypass question
On a L98 what are the pros and cons of bypassing the TB? Went to change the lower gasket by the IAC valve and 2 bolts broke in it, concerned that it might leak. Can I just run the hose from the port coming off the manifold to the heater core?

Re: TB Bypass question
Yes you can run the hose directly from the intake to the heater core. No cons on this one. The only function of the throttle "heater" is to prevent icing in sub zero temperatures because the TB doen't get enough heat from the engine because it's too far away.

Re: TB Bypass question
I ran my car even during the winter in Colorado and I never had a problem with icing. I don't see any real negatives at all to doing the mod.
