My radiator boils over randomly

HI everyone, new to camaros and forums in general. I recently bought a 1991 Camaro RS and when I drive it, the overflow randomly will start boiling over. I dont know what is wrong with it at all, i have never had any kind of issues with radiators. I am going to do a radiator flush this weekend and see if that is the issue, but I always look further into something just in case that isnt the issue. Any kind of help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also I bought it to be a project.

Try a new cap first.

ditto - cheap and easy to replace, but usually a good sign your cap's bad

I go along with the bad cap, but is there anything else going on? Like the gauge reading high. Is it boiling over when you shut it off or while you are driving? Fan running?

Try the cap first.

It doesn't read hot, the tempurature gauge never goes over half, usually it happens while I am driving but will boil over when I stop. ALso I am not sure if the fan is working, I turned on the car earlier and the fan wasnt spinning, but I just let it sit while I was seeing if it was the fan.

Going to buy a new cap tomorrow, see if it changes anything. It normally only boils driving longer distances.

Does the car have the plastic air dam hanging down under the radiator? That is how the 3rd gens get the cooling air for the radiator to cool it down.

I will look again in the morning, but I don't think it has one, anyway to see a picture of what it would look like?
