A/C Clutch Harness

I'm getting ready to rig the A/C back up in my car which has been absent sent I bought it and was wondering if there should be a diode jumpering both of the wires on the A/C clutch harness. This looks like a staple job done by a PO.

Re: A/C Clutch Harness

Yes one comes there from the factory.

It looks kind of .... half-a$$ed.

All it is, is a surge suppressor. Should be wired such that the cathode (end with the stripe) is hooked to the wire that brings +12V to the clutch. The other wire should go to the high-pressure safety in the back of the compressor.
