High Side Schrader Valve Core Removal?

I need to change me schrader valve cores. On the low side it looks like the core simply unscrews out the end like you would in a tire. However, unless the high side valve is really tiny, it doesn't appear to come out the same way. I am guessing that the valve housing needs to be unscrewed from the pipe fitting and then the valve core removed out the back.. Or, is the valve core and integral piece of the how valve? Anybody changed one out before that might know?

Thanks..

You need one of those schraeder valve tools that has a small side and a large side to it. Cost about $5. The high side uses the smaller side of the tool. Unscrews just like the low side. Nothing needs to be taken apart.

Re: High Side Schrader Valve Core Removal?

Sorry, meant to come back and update this. On my car (92 camaro) you have to remove the whole valve assembly for the high side valve. The core is actually installed from the inside of the valve assembly. The assembly is still available from GM. I just went to a GM dealer and ordered one. Got it within a few hours.
