I know the ideal temp for those cars is supposed to be around 220 but I bile be min wa overheating cause it passed it and after I shut my car off coolant gushed into the reserve tank almost filing it up and it immediating started to bubble or boil u can see in the pic where it has a bluish tint that's how much coolant went into the reserv and it kept bubbling for a good 5 min does anyone know what could be causing this. It happend to me after I got home on a hot day today. It usually stays between the 100 and 220 line in the middle of those two. bit whenever I go on the highway it goes to 220. I had the ac on the first time ever so could that have triggered it?

No air dam or the second fan is not running or a lot of other things. You have to start eliminating items so you know what to correct.
I do have the the air dam underneath but where is the fan located and I just bough a new rad cap so once my car cools I'm a replace it n see if that helps

What size cap did you buy??
I asked where they have radiator caps at autozone and the guy at the desk asked me what car and what year and came back with a 16lbs cap. Is that too much? The one that my car came with dosent say what pressure it has I didn't et a chance to replace the nap cause even after 3 hours my car was hot so I didn't feel like risking and opening up the rad cap

That should be about right,I have a 5.0 and it calls for 15 lbs.Hint---before you shut your car off,let the car run until the fans stop, that should stop the gurgling back into the reserve.Give that a try.
I put the new cap on and it seemed to do the trick of not making the coolant boil anymore but the temp did rise to almost 240 aguan at one point when I had the ac on so is that normal for it to go that high when it's on? And I'm curious do u waste alot of gas when u have the ac on cause I usually eith roll the windows down n take the t tops off or I put it on vent but it's been gettin really hot lately and it's a pain takeing the tops off n puttin back on after every ride
