Pigtail on coolant temp sensor broke.

I have a new one coming, but what are the repercussions of driving it that way? Its an 85 carbed Camaro, all stock 5.0. So far I haven't seen any issues yet putting about 60 miles on it since it broke. There may be a small chance that it is still reading though. Just the plastic on the inside of the pigtail broke and it feels like it made a connection. No problems driving, idling, starting up when hot or anything. Thanks for looking everybody!
