need some pointers on my setup...

Srry if wht i'm talking about has been covered elsewhere, looked through threads for awile and didnt see wht I needed...Ok let me lay down the ground work 1st...350 w/ 305 mach heads, cam( not sure of dur or lift), not sure of compression, ac deleted, rebuilt tbi w/ 40 up hp kit, 4bl spread bore intake, custom open plenum style adapter plate, accel performance distrib cap, 8.5mm hot wires, autolite iridium plugs, performance fuel pump, low temp thermo, procomp 2400cfm electric fan w/ aftermarket theromosat fan control harness, heater core bypassed for now...so with all tht said, I just looking for a few answers/suggestion on wht im doing. 2 Things as follows...

1.The fitting on intake tht runs to heater core or its check valve i removed and plugged up, same for one in radiator. Is this ok or not? Should I do something diff? Plan on installing new core and lines, just not at present time.

2. For the electric fan...cant get it working. It's the type tht has the probe that inserts into radiator has adjustable dial w/ realy atachd. Wires coming from this module are (black=ground), (green= to + ac terminal, tied off not needed), (yellow= ignition sig.), (red = power supply + batt), (orange w/ inline fuse = power to fan), (blue = for 2nd fan, tied off... Im running 1) and the wire runnig to sensor probe in radiator...I' ve assembled everything accordingly except the yellow(ignition sig)...It says to spice it in on a ignition powered line so the control unit cut on and off with igniton which I understand...just dnt know best place to tap it into...I touched it to fuseable link wires between battry and radiator and nothing. Dnt even know if that was suppose to work or not.

Any help would be appreciated...electrical isnt my strong suit...thanks!

Make sure the probe is low enough in the radiator that it is touching water. I have seen people put them 1/4 of an inch from the top and the water level be 3 or 4 inches low and it not work properly. Run a wire from the fuse block that says ign. You will need a male spade and run a big fine stranded wire. Remember that electricity goes off of surface area so the more (finer) strands the better. I like the audio wire the radio guys use. It is top shelf. Use a meter to make sure of power. The red wire powers the fan so use extra large on it and a good stainless crimp on spade.

Re: need some pointers on my setup...

The probe needs to be relocated then because i do have near top...as for the wiring, the control unit came pre wired(fine gauge for all except one going to battry and power to fan) and it's all installed...imma post some pics to give better idea of wht im working with...thanks for input

Plugging the heater core hoses like you mentioned is fine, I've also seen where people simply run a hose between the two ports. Abray1 already mentioned what you should so with the fan controller though with that set up, you're cooling system is a bit of overkill.
