Help! 89 T/A Fan Wont Run.

I have a 89 Trans Am GTA, and the fan wont run on its own. The previous owner has rigged a switch under the dash to start the fan. But that is done manually, I want it to run like it was made. I am new to cars and young, I can really need the help to diagnose and fix it! It is a 305 TPI of course!

Is the fan switch in the head plugged in?

When you say "won't run", describe the circumstances under which this occurs. (running conditions, temp gauge readings or infrared heat gun readings, stuff like that)

Everything is plugged in. I personally think its a bad wire or something like that. When I get home I'll look at those details. I'll also try and upload a photo on what the previous owner did to run the fan manually.
