Trying to button things up fan problem...
I am finally getting things buttoned up on my 83 Z28 after completely overhauling the brakes and just have a few small things to do. One of my problems is with my cooling fan it seems to want to run all the time as soon as I flip the ignition on. Wiring is not my strongest suit on vehicles so I am looking for some ideas on what to check. I do have all my A/C components removed at the moment so am almost wondering if the car thinks my A/C is on when it is not any ideas?

Can you tell if the fan wiring has been hacked? It's pretty common for wiring to get hacked by previous owners of these cars.
I ask because once wiring is hacked, it's kind of hard to diagnose electrical issues.

The wiring could have been hacked as the motor has been replaced I am thinking of maybe just hooking it up to a toggle switch possibly..

Your wiring is modified so it might not be straightforward.
It could be a welded relay contact, so a swap will answer that question.
If it isn’t the above you can remove the wire(s) from the temp sensor(s) to see if that turns the fan off.
If the fan stays on you will have to physically trace the hot wire to the fan to see where it is terminated.
If you want to shortcut the correct repair procedure above and toggle switch it don’t forget to install an additional relay.
