AC Help

Hello,

I want to know how to make my ac compressor clutch engage.
My ac is currently blowing hot and the clutch will not cylcle on at all.
Any steps on how to make the clutch engage will be useful.

Like Sofa said, the clutch will not engage if your out of Freon.

Are you not experienced with AC evacuation and charging? If you have zero experience, I'd suggest finding a buddy who is and have him put some gauges on it to see what's going on. As stated, most likely reason is a low charge-so you need to find where the leak is-you need (or should anyway) to pull the system down using a vacuum pump and then you can begin to track down your leak(s).

Un-plug the low pressure switch then add a jumper wire across the two spade connectors, if the clutch now engages you have a leak and low refrigerant level as the other's have mentioned.....

If you do run the compressor by jumping the pressure switch, don't run it for very long. The system needs refrigerant to circulate the oil that's in the system. However, this would be a moot point if your compressor already blew its guts.
