Fans intermittent

First I noticed that the driver's side fan came on everytime I turned the key to the on position. Hot or cold. Then my temp started climbing at idle when I noticed the fan wasn't coming on at all. The passenger side fan never comes on but my AC doesn't work. From what I've read it only works with the AC...? Seperate question but could that be the reason my AC doesn't blow cold air? It has free on. Now it's coming on again hot or cold. Where do I start? A troubleshooting tree would be greatly appreciated! Probably unrelated but in the same week I'm getting intermittent problems starting the car. Battery is good all lights and accys work fine but when I go to crank nothing happens. No click. no sound at a'll. Just the normal spike in the gauges until the key returns to the on position. Side note the security light stays on while I try to crank.... This happens more times than not but is intermittent as well. Dont know if this would help but the problem started when I accidentally turned the car off while in reverse. (and yes i put it back in park before I had the problem) Again a troubleshooting tree would be greatly appreciated. Please help this little stuff is piling up and its frustrating as hell

You can apply 12 volts directly to the fan(s) to see if they are good.

If they are make sure the FAN fuse is good, located up and to the left of the brake pedal, behind a small door.

With the key in the RUN position (engine off) jump the wire going to the FAN SWITCH located in the right rear portion of the engine.

You can also ground the coolant temp sensor for the fan(s) located on the top right of the engine.

Another test to is to ground pin B at the ALDL located at the Fuse Block which is located up and to the left of the brake pedal, behind a small door, to see if the fan(s) come on.

If you’re A/C was working except for the fan, starting from a cold engine, it would still blow cold air for several seconds to minutes depending on ambient.

As to the no crank, it sounds like the key is having an intermittent connection with the security system contacts in the key cylinder.

No it doesn’t matter you turned it off in reverse.

Happy Racing !
