87 GTA Dual fans not coming on properly

Have searched and haven't come up with anything. Have a 87 GTA with dual fans. Since owning the car for a few years I've never had a problem with their operation. The original owner tied the fans together so they both turn on from the ECM command, not the switch in the passenger side head. Again, never been a problem. One day they just decided not to work. Checked the fuse under dash and it was good but swapped it anyway. Have replaced both fan relays.

Now here's the kicker. If I take the passenger side relay out (temp switch controlled) and place a jumper wire from orange wire to the tan wire the fans will turn on when the AC turns on or when it see the appropriate temp. This is the only way they will work and although they do, of course they aren't at 100%. What could be going on here?

Just wanted to update. I got it fixed. Was a corroded fusible link right at the battery. Car runs better as well.
