Intake port for aftermarket temp gauge

I'd like to run an aftermarket temp gauge and don't lose the stock gauge also. Would this port work? It's next to the thermostat housing. Emissions already ditched and also running non-CCC carb/dizzy.

That will work or you should have a Npt plug on your passengers side cylinder heads between cylinders 6 & 8.
